Bye, bye, U.K. (1973 - 2016?)

The U.K. we know today, or United Kingdoms of Great Britain and North Ireland, was made in 1922, after most of Ireland withdrew from the prior union, leaving just the North Ireland we know today as part of U.K. The united part of U.K. is, I think, what is the root of their issues with EU. United means union, and when you try to merge an old union like U.K. into a new one like EU, and have EU call all the shots, well, then it's not going to work! There will of course be rebels, like Scotland, who were never happy with the old union in the first hand, who wants out of the old, and into the new. Many think that this outcome signals changes in all of Europe, but I think it won't happen, because U.K. is a special case in EU, but not on world basis. USA is also a union (United States of America, United Kingdom), as was the Soviet Union (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) before its demise. It's more likely that USA get troubles before EU crumbles as doomsayers claim.
